Could you be part of our Psychological Support Team?

Galway Rape Crisis Centre is recruiting volunteers to join our dedicated Psychological Support Team.

Our Psychological Support Team provides vital advocacy and psychological support to survivors in the immediate aftermath of rape or sexual assault. This is a 24-hour, 7-day on call service delivered by Galway Rape Crisis Centre within the Galway Sexual Assault Treatment Unit (SATU).

The role of a Psychological Support Team volunteer is not a counselling role. Instead, you will provide compassionate emotional support, information and advocacy at a time when survivors need it most.

As a volunteer, you will:

Be on call three times each month
Commit to a minimum of two years in the role
Receive comprehensive training, ongoing supervision and support from Galway Rape Crisis Centre
Become part of a committed and supportive team making a real difference in people's lives

This essential service would not exist without the generosity, commitment and compassion of our volunteers.
